5. Age Limit:

   • Minimum 20 years and less than 42 years as of January 1, 2015.
   • Age relaxation provisions:
     • 5 years relaxation for male candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Backward Class/Special Backward Class of Rajasthan.
     • 10 years relaxation for female candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Backward Class/Special Backward Class of Rajasthan.
     • 5 years relaxation for female candidates of the General category.
     • No upper age limit for widows and legally separated women.
     • Age relaxation for persons with disabilities: 10 years for the General category, 13 years for Backward/Special Backward Class, and 15 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe.
   • Additional relaxation provisions:
     • Persons temporarily appointed in this service, if they were within the age limit at the time of initial appointment, will be considered within the age limit even if they have crossed it at the time of final appearance before the commission, and if they were eligible at the time of initial appointment, they will be given two opportunities.
     • In the case of NCC cadet instructors, the upper age limit will be relaxed by the period of service rendered by them in the NCC, and if the resulting age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age limit by more than three years, they will be considered within the prescribed age limit.
     • The maximum age limit for persons permanently employed in Panchayat Samitis, Zila Parishads, and public sector undertakings/corporations of the state will be 40 years.
     • Ex-prisoners who have previously worked substantively in a post under the State Government before being punished and were eligible for appointment under the rules will have no maximum age limit.
     • Other ex-prisoners who were not overage before being punished and were eligible for appointment under these rules will have a relaxation equal to the time spent in prison.
     • The maximum age limit for persons permanently employed in the business of the State of Rajasthan will be 40 years.
     • Released Emergency Commissioned Officers and Short Service Commissioned Officers will be considered within the age limit after being released from the army, even if they have crossed the age limit while appearing before the commission, provided that they were eligible in terms of age at the time of receiving the commission in the army.
     • In the case of Reserve List, i.e., defense service personnel who have been transferred to the reserve, or have retired, or released defense service personnel, the maximum age limit will be 50 years.

7. Other Important Points:

   • The benefit of more than one relaxation will not be combined.
   • The benefit of relaxation in the upper age limit will be admissible only as per the classification of posts received from the government. If there is no post reserved for any category, the candidate of that category will not get the benefit of relaxation in the upper age limit.
   • If recruitment for direct recruitment posts has not taken place in any recruitment year and if a candidate was eligible in terms of age in that year, he/she will be considered eligible in terms of age, but this relaxation will not exceed three years.
   • Previously, the age for the posts of Assistant Engineer was calculated as of January 1, 1997. Therefore, candidates who are overage as of January 1, 2015, will get a relaxation of 3 years.
   • Individuals appearing in the final year of their educational qualification can also apply, but they will have to provide proof of qualification before the interview.
   • Candidates will be selected through an interview. If there are more applications, the commission may conduct a screening test.
   • Applications can be submitted online from August 6, 2014, to September 5, 2014, until 12:00 midnight.
   • The reservation status and appointment process will be subject to change as per the instructions and latest rules of the State Government. If the relevant service rules are amended, the recruitment/examination will be conducted accordingly.
