Primary School Teacher: Brief Overview
1. Job Title: Primary School Teacher (General / Special Education) (Level-1, Classes 1 to 5)
2. Recruitment Process: In Rajasthan, the recruitment of primary school teachers is conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur.
3. Vacancy Details:

- The classification of vacancies (General Education, Special Education (MR, HI, BI), Non-Scheduled Area, Scheduled Area) is provided in the annexures.
- The number of vacancies is subject to change.
4. Online Application:
- Interested candidates must apply online through the official RSSB website.
- The application process includes payment of the examination fee and obtaining an Application ID.
- Offline applications are not accepted.
5. Examination Fee:
- The examination fee depends on the candidate's category.
- The fee is ₹450 for candidates from the General category and Creamy Layer OBC / MBC.
- The fee is ₹350 for Non-Creamy Layer OBC / MBC and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
- The fee is ₹250 for candidates from SC / ST categories.
- Families with an annual income of less than ₹2.50 lakhs are required to pay a fee of ₹250 (regardless of their category).
- Reserved category candidates from other states are considered as General category and must pay the General category fee.
- The fee once paid is non-refundable.
6. Important Dates:
- The period for paying the examination fee and submitting the online application is from December 21, 2022, to January 19, 2023, until 11:59 PM. The last date for payment of the examination fee is January 18, 2023.
7. Examination:
- The written examination will be conducted from February 25, 2023, to February 28, 2023.
- Information about the examination centers will be provided through the board’s website and press releases.
- The board may change the examination date and location.
8. Examination Scheme and Syllabus:

9. Admit Card:
- Admit cards will be available for download from the board’s website.
- Admit cards will not be sent by post.
10. Educational Qualifications:
- The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks.
- The candidate must have passed a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed. - General Education).
- For Special Education, a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is required.
- The candidate must have passed the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) - Level 1.
11. Age Limit:
- The maximum age limit for male candidates in the General category is 40 years.
- Reserved category male candidates (residents of Rajasthan) are eligible for a 5-year relaxation.
- Female candidates (General category and from other states) are eligible for a 5-year relaxation.
- Reserved category female candidates (residents of Rajasthan) are eligible for a 10-year relaxation.
- The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen is 50 years.
12. Pay Scale:
- During the first 2 years of appointment, the trainee will receive a fixed remuneration of ₹23,700.
- After successfully completing the training period, the pay scale will be as per Level-10 under the 7th Pay Commission.
13. Reservation:
- As per the rules of the Government of Rajasthan, reservations are provided for various categories such as SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS, women, ex-servicemen, outstanding sports persons, and persons with disabilities.
14. Other Important Points:
- Only local residents of the scheduled area of Rajasthan can apply for the posts reserved for the scheduled area.
- 30% of the posts are reserved for women.
- Candidates with disabilities will be provided with a scribe facility during the examination.
- Candidates will be given limited opportunities to make corrections in the online application.
- Strict action will be taken against candidates using unfair means.
