Detailed Information for Pharmacist Direct Recruitment Examination 2018
1. Examination Conducted by: This examination was organized by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur, for the Department of Medical and Health Services, Rajasthan.
2. Number of Posts: The examination was conducted for a total of 1,736 posts, with 1,538 posts reserved for the non-scheduled area and 198 posts reserved for the scheduled area.
3. Important Dates:
- Online Application and Fee Submission Period: From 16th August 2018 to 15th September 2018 (until midnight).
- Period for Modifying Online Applications: Within 7 days of the last application date.
- Examination Date: October 2018 (tentative).
4. Application Process:
- Applications were accepted only through online mode.
- Applicants could apply through Rajasthan's designated E-Mitra kiosks/Public Facilitation Centers or directly through the Board's official website.
- After applying, candidates were required to obtain a hard copy of the application and a receipt from the E-Mitra kiosk.
5. Examination Fee:
- General Category / OBC (Creamy Layer) / MBC Candidates: ₹450
- OBC / MBC Candidates (Non-Creamy Layer) of Rajasthan: ₹350
- All Specially Abled and SC/ST Candidates of Rajasthan: ₹250
- Candidates from all categories with a family annual income less than ₹2.50 lakhs: ₹250 (Income certificate submission was mandatory).
6. Admit Card:
- Admit cards were issued only through online mode by the Board.
- Candidates could download their admit cards from the Board's official website.
7. Reservation:
- Horizontal Reservation: Horizontal reservation was applicable for women, ex-servicemen, outstanding sportspersons, and differently-abled individuals.
- Scheduled Area: Only local residents of Rajasthan's scheduled areas were eligible to apply for these posts.
- Women Reservation: 30% of the posts were reserved for women.
- Reservation for Widows and Deserted Women: Out of the posts reserved for women, 8% were reserved for widows and 2% for deserted women.
8. Special Information:
- The Sahariya primitive tribe candidates would only benefit from reservation if they clearly mentioned their category in the application form.

- Differently-abled candidates would only benefit from reservation if they had a valid disability certificate issued by a competent authority.
9. Pay Scale: According to the 7th Pay Commission, the pay scale for pharmacists is determined at Pay Matrix Level 10.
10. Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Pharmacy and registration as a pharmacist with the Rajasthan Pharmacy Council.
- Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of the culture of Rajasthan.
- Age Limit (as of 1st January 2019): Between 18 to 40 years.
- Age relaxation provisions were applicable for various categories.
- Other:
- Health: Good mental and physical health.
- Character: Good moral character.
- Nationality: Citizen of India or a person meeting the prescribed criteria from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, or other specified countries.
11. Selection Process:
- Candidates were selected based on a written examination and bonus marks.
- The written examination carried a weightage of 70%, while the bonus marks had a maximum weightage of 30%.
- The final merit list was prepared by combining the marks obtained in the written examination and bonus marks.

- 10% bonus marks were awarded for each full year of experience, with a maximum of 30% bonus marks.
- Submission of an experience certificate issued by a competent authority was mandatory to obtain bonus marks.
