Village Development Officer Direct Recruitment - 2021: A Brief Overview
1. Vacancy Details and Reservation
Total Vacancies: There are a total of 3,896 posts for Village Development Officer, with 3,222 posts reserved for the non-scheduled areas and 674 posts for the scheduled areas.
District Allocation: The allocation of districts to selected candidates will be based on their merit and the order of district preferences filled in their online application form.
Reservation: The reservation of vacant posts will follow the state government's instructions and the latest rules, which include 30% horizontal reservation for women, 8% for widows, 2% for deserted women, 12.5% for ex-servicemen, and 2% for outstanding sportspersons.
Scheduled Areas: Only local residents of the scheduled areas of Rajasthan state can apply for the vacant posts in these areas.
Specially Abled: Reservation for specially abled persons will be as per the Rajasthan Divyangjan Rights Rules, 2018.
2. Application Process
Online Application: Applications will be accepted only through online mode, which can be filled out via the designated e-Mitra kiosk / public service center in Rajasthan.
SSO ID: An SSO ID is mandatory for the applicant to apply online.
Application Fee: The application fee varies by category and can be paid through the e-Mitra kiosk / public service center.
Application Amendments: Two opportunities will be provided for application amendments: the first within 7 days after the application deadline, and the second after the examination is conducted.
3. Examination Process
Two Phases: The Village Development Officer recruitment exam will be conducted in two phases: a preliminary exam and a main exam.
Preliminary Exam: This will be a qualifying exam, meaning the marks obtained will not be considered in the merit list for the main exam.
Main Exam: Only candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam will be eligible for the main exam, and the number of candidates selected will be 15 times the number of vacancies.
4. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
A graduate degree or equivalent
DOEACC 'O' level certificate or equivalent computer proficiency certificate
Age Limit:
Minimum: 18 years (as of January 1, 2022)
Maximum: 40 years (as of January 1, 2022)
Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rules for various categories.
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India or fulfill other specified eligibility criteria.
Health: Mentally and physically fit.
Character: Must possess good moral character.
