Reservations were provided for General, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Special Backward Classes, and Specially Abled Persons. Some posts also included a backlog. The number of posts could be increased or decreased.
Educational Qualifications
The educational qualifications required for different subjects were as follows:
For subjects in Arts, Humanities, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Education, Language, Law, Journalism, and Mass Communication, candidates must have at least 55% marks in a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject or an equivalent grade.
Candidates were required to clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR or a SLET/SET recognized by UGC.
Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, were exempted from NET/SLET/SET requirements.
For Master’s programs where NET/SLET/SET is not conducted, these tests were not required.
For Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and other traditional Indian art forms, similar qualification criteria applied. In some cases, traditional and professional artists with sufficient knowledge of the subject were also eligible.
A good academic record meant at least 55% marks in the three exams prior to the Master’s Degree and at least 50% marks in graduation.
Other Important Qualifications
Candidates must have practical knowledge of Hindi written in the Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthan’s culture.
The Rajasthan State Level Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) was also considered valid.
Candidates who passed SLET/SET before June 1, 2002, from any state were eligible, but exams conducted after June 1, 2002, by other states were not valid.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The minimum age was 21 years, and the maximum age was 35 years as of July 1, 2015.
Male candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes of Rajasthan were given a 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
Female candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes of Rajasthan were given a 10-year relaxation.
Women from the General category were granted a 5-year relaxation.
For widows and divorced women, there was no upper age limit.
Persons with Disabilities were also eligible for age relaxation.
Age relaxation was also provided to ex-servicemen, state government employees, and other special categories.
Selection Process
Selection was to be made through a written examination and an interview.
The written examination consisted of three papers, carrying 75, 75, and 50 marks, respectively.
The interview carried 24 marks.
Candidates were to be selected based on their total marks in the written examination and interview.
Candidates who passed the written examination were to be called for the interview.
If the number of applications was high, the Commission could conduct a screening test.
The screening test was to be objective and written.
Application Process
Online applications were invited from January 19, 2015, to February 27, 2015.
The last date for applications was later extended to March 31, 2015, and then to November 16, 2015.
Candidates were given 30 days to make corrections in the application form after the last date.
