Junior Engineer (Agriculture) Direct Recruitment 2022 Examination: A Brief Overview
This examination is conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur, with the aim of filling vacant Junior Engineer positions in the Watershed Development and Soil Conservation Department under the Rajasthan Agriculture Department. A total of 189 positions are being recruited, with 144 posts reserved for the non-scheduled area and 45 posts for the scheduled area.
1. Application Process:
- Applications will only be accepted online.
- Candidates must apply through the official website of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (http://rsmssb.rajasthan.gov.in) or via the SSO portal (http://sso.rajasthan.gov.in).
- To apply, candidates must complete the "One Time Registration (OTR)" process.
- During OTR, candidates must upload their name, date of birth, gender, educational details, and ID proof.
- Once the OTR number is generated, candidates will not be able to modify their name, father's name, date of birth, and gender in the OTR profile. If there are any errors in these details on the Aadhar or Jan Aadhar card, they should be corrected before applying.
- The application fee must be paid online.
- Applicants must carefully enter their mobile number and email ID, as all important information will be sent there.
- After submitting the application, the applicant will receive an application number, confirming the successful submission of the form.
- The last date to apply is July 6, 2022.
2. Examination Fee:
The examination fee can be paid through E-Mitra Kiosk, Citizen Service Center (CSC), net banking, ATM cum debit card, and credit card.
- General category, creamy layer OBC/More Backward Classes applicants: ₹450/-.
- Non-creamy layer OBC/More Backward Classes and economically weaker section applicants from Rajasthan: ₹350/-.
- All specially-abled candidates and SC/ST applicants from Rajasthan: ₹250/-.
- Candidates of any category whose family income is less than ₹2.50 lakh annually: ₹250/- (same as SC/ST). However, such candidates will have to present an income certificate issued by a competent authority during eligibility verification and document checks.
- SC/ST/OBC/More Backward Classes/EWS candidates from outside Rajasthan will be considered as general category and must pay the general category fee.
- Once submitted, the fee will not be refunded.
3. Examination Scheme and Syllabus:

4. Reservation:
- Positions are reserved for various categories like SC, ST, OBC, More Backward Classes, EWS, women, ex-servicemen, outstanding athletes, and disabled candidates.
- To avail of reservation benefits, candidates must have a valid caste certificate, income certificate, etc., issued by a competent authority. These certificates must be dated on or before the application deadline.
5. Important Information for Disabled Candidates:
- Only disabled candidates falling under the categories described in the Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018 are eligible for reservation.
- Disabled candidates must clearly mention their category and disability in the online application form.
- The disability certificate must be dated before the application deadline.
- Blind, low vision (minimum 40% disability), or physically handicapped candidates (unable to write due to hand disability) will be provided with a scribe. Candidates wishing to avail of this benefit must inform the board after receiving the admit card and must report to the superintendent of the allocated exam center at least three days before the exam.
6. Special Instructions for Scheduled Area Candidates:
- Only local residents of the scheduled areas of Rajasthan can apply for these positions.
- Scheduled area candidates must clearly mark the scheduled area column in the online application form.
- For scheduled area candidates, pay scales, eligibility, educational qualifications, nationality, age, pension, marriage registration, examination fee, online application process, modification of application, disqualification for appointment, certificate verification, prevention of unfair means, exam syllabus, and scheme will be the same as for non-scheduled areas.
7. Important Dates:
- Start date for online application and fee submission: June 7, 2022
- Last date for online application and fee submission: July 6, 2022
- Exam date: September 10, 2022
8. Other Important Information:
- Candidates are advised to carefully read the detailed advertisement available on the website before applying.
- Admit cards for the exam will be issued online through the board's website.
- Strict action will be taken against candidates using unfair means during the exam.
- After the exam, the question paper will be uploaded on the board's website.
- The answer key will also be uploaded, and objections will be invited.
- Candidates must pay ₹100/- for each objection.
9. Online Application Modification:
- No offline requests for modifications in the online application will be accepted.
- After submitting the application, candidates can modify details other than their name, father's name, date of birth, and gender mentioned in the OTR profile.
- A fee of ₹300/- will be charged for modifications made within seven days after the application deadline.
- After the exam, candidates will be given another opportunity to correct errors in their online application. The board will announce a fixed timeline and procedure for this later.
- However, candidates cannot modify their name, parent's name, date of birth, gender, educational qualifications, photo, or signature. If there are errors in these details, candidates will have the opportunity to present sufficient proof during eligibility verification and document checks.
