Fireman and Assistant Fire Officer Examination 2021: A Brief Overview

1. Purpose of the Examination:

This examination is conducted to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Fire Officer and Fireman in the Rajasthan Department of Local Self Government.

2. Post Details:

• Assistant Fire Officer:
  • Total Posts: 29 (27 Non-Scheduled Area + 2 Scheduled Area)
  • Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-8
• Fireman:
  • Total Posts: 600 (581 Non-Scheduled Area + 19 Scheduled Area)
  • Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-4

3. Important Dates:

• Online Application Period: From August 18, 2021, to September 16, 2021 (until 11:59 PM)
• Last Date for Fee Submission: September 16, 2021 (until 11:59 PM)
• Exam Date: December 2021 (Tentative)

4. Eligibility:

• Nationality: Citizen of India; Subject of Nepal, Bhutan; Tibetan refugee (who came to India before January 1, 1962); Person of Indian origin (migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc.)
• Age Limit (as of January 1, 2022):
  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 40 years
  • Age relaxation applies to various categories.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Assistant Fire Officer: Graduate Degree + Sub-Officer Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur, or equivalent
  • Fireman: 12th Pass + Minimum 6 months of Basic Elementary Fireman Training or equivalent

5. Physical Standards:

• Height:
  • Men: 165 cm
  • Women: 152 cm
  • Scheduled Tribe (Men): 160 cm
• Chest Measurement:
  • Men (General): 81 cm (Unexpanded), 86 cm (Expanded)
  • Men (Scheduled Tribe): 76 cm (Unexpanded), 81 cm (Expanded)
• Weight:
  • Men: 50 kg
  • Women: 47.50 kg
• Other:
  • Health: Good mental and physical health
  • Character: Good moral character

6. Reservation:

• For Residents of Rajasthan:
  • Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes/Most Backward Classes/Economically Weaker Section
  • Women
  • Ex-Servicemen
  • Outstanding Sportspersons
  • Persons with Special Abilities
• For Residents of Scheduled Areas:
  • Only residents of Scheduled Areas of Rajasthan can apply for posts reserved for Scheduled Areas.
• Horizontal Reservation: Applicable for women, ex-servicemen, outstanding sportspersons, and persons with special abilities.
